In a press statement, the organization confirmed that its inspection teams will intensify their monitoring campaigns during and outside official working hours. These campaigns will cover economic establishments across all governorates and districts of the Kingdom, with the aim of verifying that products available in the markets comply with the relevant technical regulations and Jordanian standards.
The regulatory plan includes the implementation of extensive inspection and field campaigns, targeting products that see increased demand before and during the holy month, such as decorative lighting products and pre-packaged Ramadan beverages and sweets. Inspections of commercial scales will also be intensified in bakeries, butcher shops, vegetable stores, and sweet shops to prevent any violations that could harm consumers’ rights.
The plan will also focus on increasing inspections of the clothing, children’s toys, and cosmetics sectors, in addition to cookware and electrical and household appliances. This comes alongside the continued inspection of gold and silver jewelry and bullion to ensure compliance with legally approved karats.
The statement noted that inspection campaigns will continue throughout Ramadan to verify fuel pump meters at fuel stations and meters on fuel transport tankers, as well as to intensify inspections of gas cylinder fillers and distributors to ensure correct cylinder weights and their suitability for safe use.
The organization stressed that it will not hesitate to take all legal measures against violators, calling on consumers to report any non-compliant products via the unified complaints phone and WhatsApp number (065301243), the organization’s website, or its official social media pages.
