Amman — Head of the Association of Private School Owners, Monther Al-Sourani, said on Sunday that school hours during the holy month of Ramadan will run from 9:00 a.m. until 1:10 p.m.

Al-Sourani added that the number of class periods during Ramadan will be six, with the seventh period canceled. He noted that if the schedule originally includes eight periods, the eighth period will also be canceled, with the school day ending at 1:50 p.m. He explained that the five-minute break between classes will be canceled, while the main break during the school day will be 10 minutes.
Regarding school bus routes, Al-Sourani said that their schedules and operating mechanisms will be determined by the administrations of private schools.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has circulated the official school hours for public schools, which will take effect at the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
The ministry stated that working hours for education directorates will be from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
In single-shift public schools, the first class will begin at 9:00 a.m., with each class lasting 40 minutes and a 10-minute break. The five-minute break between classes will be canceled. The sixth class will end at 1:10 p.m., the seventh at 1:50 p.m., and the eighth class will be canceled.
For double-shift schools, the morning shift will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the afternoon shift at 12:50 p.m. Each class period will be 35 minutes, with a 10-minute break and the cancellation of the five-minute break between classes. The sixth class of the afternoon shift will conclude at 4:30 p.m.
