On Wednesday evening, the Southern Military Zone foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotics using a drone along its western front, within its area of responsibility.

A military source from the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army stated: "Border Guard forces in the Southern Military Zone, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs using a drone that tried to cross the border." The source explained that rules of engagement were applied after the drone was detected and tracked, resulting in it being dealt with and brought down inside Jordanian territory. The seized materials were handed over to the competent authorities.
The source affirmed that the Jordanian Armed Forces will continue to utilize all their capabilities and resources to prevent all forms of infiltration and smuggling, in order to safeguard the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
