AMMAN — The Private Hospitals Association stressed that all private hospitals that receive and treat new cases of coronavirus infections adhere to the protocols and instruction requiring isolating people infected with the virus in designated wings to avoid infecting other patients, according to Al-Ghad News.اضافة اعلان

Responding Wednesday to claims circulated by one media outlet that coronavirus infections occurred at a private hospital because of lack of nursing cadres designated specifically to coronavirus infected patients, association’s president Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri said that private hospitals that receive coronavirus patients assign a certain number of nurses to work in designated and isolation departments only, adding that these cadres are trained and qualified to deal with corona cases.

However, he said, private hospitals are facing severe shortages of nurses as a result of the fact that the Ministry of Health and the Gulf states attract large numbers of qualified and trained cadres to work in public and field hospitals.

Hammouri added that this problem, which occurs at a time when a large numbers of private hospitals receive cases of coronavirus infections to support the efforts of the Ministry of Health to deal with the pandemic, threatens the quality of services given to patients and is bound to damage the distinguished reputation of the health sector in the Kingdom.
