Jordan Medical Association (JMA) President Fawzi Al-Hammouri, said in response to a video circulated on social media of a foreign national accusing a Jordanian doctor of performing what he described as unprofessional medical procedure, that the video is part of a deliberate campaign aimed at defaming Jordan’s distinguished medical reputation, particularly in light of tough competition in the medical tourism sector.

The JMA has affirmed that “the video was not valid, that the complaint was malicious and that it preserves the right to sue the person in the video.”

Hammouri added that this attempted campaign requires that all sectors, stakeholders, and citizens in stand united in support of the Jordanian health sector and in addressing any action that harms its achievements, urging people to not circulate such videos or publications.
