Prime Minister Jafar Hassan received, at his office in the Prime Ministry on Sunday, the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Iraq, Haibat Al-Halbousi, and his accompanying parliamentary delegation.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the depth of the historic and deep-rooted relations binding the two brotherly countries and their peoples, as well as their mutual keenness to enhance cooperation across various fields to serve their common interests.
The Prime Minister reiterated Jordan's unwavering stance in supporting the consolidation of security and stability in brotherly Iraq and its progress along its developmental path, emphasizing that Iraq's security is an integral part of the security of Jordan and the wider region.
The talks also emphasized the necessity of moving forward with joint projects between the two countries in the fields of energy, electricity, and economic and trade exchange. They stressed the importance of exerting maximum efforts to facilitate trade and foster cooperation between the private sector and business leaders from both nations, particularly in light of the current regional circumstances and challenges that underscore the vital importance of joint cooperation to mitigate their repercussions.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Monem Al-Oudat, the Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs, Abdullatif Al-Najdawi, and the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, MP Khamis Atieh.
