According to preliminary plans, the Aqaba-Ma'an Dry Port project will be established on an expandable area of 4,000 dunams. It will be implemented in phases to integrate with the Ma'an Development Zone as the nucleus of a new logistical, customs, and industrial zone. The project will connect to the Aqaba Railway project—the foundation stone of which will be laid following financial closure in early 2027 as a 50-50 Jordanian-Emirati investment valued at $2.3 billion—via a 42 km link extending from the Al-Shidiya route to the dry port.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of coordination among all relevant ministries, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), and the Ma'an Development Zone to complete the project and achieve its developmental and economic objectives for the Aqaba and Ma'an governorates, as well as all governorates across the Kingdom. — (Al-Mamlaka)
