Mohammed Abaddi elected as artist syndicate president

AMMAN-- Members of the Jordan Artists Association (JAA) elected Mohammed Abaddi as their president, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. 

Abaddi received 141 votes, compared with Hussein Khatib’s 85 ballots in the second round, according to head of the polling committee, artist Nabil Najim.


Meanwhile, the third competitor, artist Sari Al-Assaad, failed to reach the second round, Najim said.

On Friday, the JAA elected its twelfth council for a two-year term, partly attended by Minister of Culture, Haifa Al-Najjar.
