AMMAN — MP Mohammad Al-Fayez warned against amendments to the Election Law, which is being discussed by the Lower House Legal Committee, saying an amended law would centralize power away from the governorates, according to Jo24.اضافة اعلان

Fayez added that the amendments aim to change the true representation of the people of rural and badia areas, noting that “this is a plan to weaken Jordan’s role” and that Parliament must be given sufficient time to discuss these amendments.

Fayez urged a thorough review of the law before endorsement, voicing his concern for the fact that “the law may be passed without a debate, and without consideration to the threats it will pose to Jordanians’ representation.”
