AMMAN — Since the start of the
rainy season, Jordan has witnessed 1.394 billion cubic meters (bcm) of
rainfall, 17 percent of the Kingdom’s annual average of 8.1bcm, the Ministry of Water and Irrigation announced on Wednesday.
In a statement, the ministry said that the Kingdom’s
dams now hold 10.1 percent of their total capacity of 280.7 million cubic
meters (mcm), or 28.3mcm, after rainfall over the previous 24 hours raised
their level by some 930,000 cubic meters, the Jordan News Agency, Petra,
reported.
