Jordanian-Syrian economic activity resumes, joint free zone reopens

AMMAN — Minister of Industry Trade and Supply Yousef Al-Shamali announced Wednesday the reopening of the Jordanian-Syrian free zone and the resumption of the economic activities, according to Al Ghad News.اضافة اعلان

The move is part of efforts to attract investments and revitalize trade and the services sector, which will create job opportunities and contribute to bolstering the economic ties between the two countries and their overall development, the minister said.

The resumption of economic activities comes within the framework of coordination and cooperation to rehabilitate the Jordanian-Syrian Joint Free Zone, which was established under an economic cooperation agreement and the regulations governing trade exchange between the two countries, as one of the pillars of joint Arab economic action, the minister added.
