Jordan vows to continue its fight against human trafficking

AMMAN — Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported that Jordanian institutions and civil society organizations have pledged to combat human trafficking, marking World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on June 30. The theme for this year’s day against human trafficking is "Victims' Voices Lead the Way,” which underlines the importance of listening to and learning from survivors.اضافة اعلان

The United Nations stated that survivors of human trafficking are an asset to tackling this issue and rehabilitating other survivors. 

Experts added that human trafficking is a worldwide, profit-driven crime perpetrated by individuals and organizations, and Jordan was among the first countries to fight it.

General commissioner of the National Center for Human Rights said that Jordan has amended its anti-human trafficking law of 2021 to classify organized begging as a form of human trafficking and protect victims of human trafficking from public prosecution.
