Jordan signs JD7.6 million water project deal

AMMAN — On Sunday, the Ministry of Water and Irrigation signed a JD7.6 million agreement with Ahmad Yousef Al-Tarawneh and Partner Ltd. And Ale’mar Contracting Company for a treated water carrier project in Irbid, funded by Germany’s Development Bank (KfW).اضافة اعلان

The agreement, signed by Mohammed Al-Najjar, Minister of Water and Irrigation, General Manager of Ahmed Yousef Al-Tarawneh, and representatives of the Ale’mar Company, aims to enhance the environment and increase the water supply for irrigation purposes, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.

The project involves the construction of a pipeline to transport approximately 10 million cubic meters of high-quality treated water to the Jordan Valley and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 6,000 tonnes. This initiative aligns with the Water Authority's goal of expanding the use of treated water and meeting high-quality criteria.
