Jordan records 500 new COVID-19 cases today

AMMAN — The number of COVID-19 deaths recorded today reached 12, according to the Ministry of Health, while a total of 500 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Tuesday, bringing the death toll to 9,614 and the caseload to 744,377.اضافة اعلان

Breaking down Tuesday’s tally, the ministry said:

236 in Amman
85 in Zarqa
81 in Irbid
22 in Mafraq
16 in Balqa
14 in Karak
14 in Ajloun
9 in Aqaba
7 in Tafileh
6 in Jerash
2 in Madaba
2 in Maan

The ministry added in a statement that some 50 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 53 others were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 7,093, according to the ministry’s statement.

Around 2.47 percent of the 20,236 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
