Jordan records 4,977 new COVID-19 cases, 24 new deaths

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 4,977 new COVID-19 cases and 24 new deaths on Tuesday, bringing the total death toll to 11,608 and the total number of cases to 953,943.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 1,924 cases, while Zarqa recorded 525 cases. Irbid registered 1,058 cases, Balqa 394 cases, Karak recorded 231 cases, Jerash recorded 181 cases, and Tafileh recorded 50 cases. Madaba registered 112 cases, Aqaba 61, Ramtha 49, and Ajloun 132.

The ministry said in a statement that 150 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 195 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 55,261 according to the ministry. Out of 52,745 COVID-19 tests conducted Tuesday 9.44 percent of them came back positive.
