Jordan positivity rate spikes to 6%

AMMAN  — Jordan recorded 2,080 new COVID-19 cases and 14 new deaths Friday, bringing the total death toll to 11,102 and the total number of cases to 872,585.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 924 cases, while Zarqa recorded 146 cases. Irbid registered 428 cases, Balqa 122 cases, Karak recorded 42 cases, Jerash recorded 50 cases, and Tafileh recorded 8 cases. Madaba registered 79 cases, Aqaba 51, and Ajloun 46.

The ministry said in a statement that 75 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 96 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 23,585 according to the ministry. Out of 34,526 COVID-19 tests conducted Friday, 6.02 percent of them came back positive.
