To the above should be added the close cooperation among the various sectors and the successes achieved in the medical field, which, along with other fields, contributed to placing Jordan on the medical tourism map as an advanced medical tourism destination.

President of the Jordan Hotels Association Abdel Hakim Al-Hindi said that, according to the Ministry of Health, by August, some 124,000 patients had received treatment in the Kingdom.

He added that that hotels provide accurate details to patients, modern technology and translation experts in several languages.

President of the Private Hospital Association and Honorary President of the World Council for Medical Tourism Dr Fawzi Al-Hammouri said that Jordan still ranks first in medical tourism in the region, and is among the top 10 countries in the world in this field.

Director of the Directorate of Medical Tourism at the Ministry of Health Suleiman Amareen said that the role of the ministry is to supervise the movement of patients coming for treatment from the moment they arrive at the airport until they leave the hospital.

According to him, the directorate employees conduct continuous supervisory tours to identify and prioritize patients’ observations, with a view to finding solutions, and follow-up, and coordinate among hospitals, the Jordan Tourism Board and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
