Yanal Barmawi, the ministry's spokesperson, told Al-Mamlaka TV that these preparations for Ramadan are to address potential inflationary pressures caused by Israel's aggression on Gaza and the West Bank, as well as the subsequent repercussions and disruptions in the Red Sea and Bab Al-Mandeb.

According to Barmawi, the ministry will conduct rigorous inspection campaigns of all commercial businesses to ensure compliance with the terms of industry, trade, and competition law. They will also monitor product availability and pricing variations. However, till now, the ministry found no infractions or market distortions.

Furthermore, Barmawi stated that commercial stores' advertised deals and discounts are subject to the laws controlling industry, commerce, and competition.

He stressed that the ministry closely monitors whether these reductions or discounts represent competition violations or hurt other sectors. Specifically, behaviors that could result in economic dominance or concentration for one store at the detriment of another. Barmawi emphasized that selling below cost involves practices that may affect other traders.
