AMMAN — In a display of festivity, Jordan's Department of
Antiquities embarked on aN endeavor to illuminate numerous archaeological sites
across the Kingdom, commemorating the wedding of HRH Crown Prince Hussein and
Ms. Rajwa Al-Saif.

As of Tuesday evening, a total of 26 historical sites,
including the iconic Amman Citadel, the Roman Amphitheater in downtown Amman,
and the headquarters of the Department of Antiquities, have been illuminated,
casting a glow across the Kingdom.
‘Celebrating Al Hussein’
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Makram Al-Qaisi,
announced the initiative to light up the archaeological sites as a part of the
broader celebration themed "Celebrating Al-Hussein”.
This slogan, endorsed by various national institutions, aims
to foster unity and pride among Jordanians while also showcasing the rich
historical treasures the country possesses. The radiant display at these
revered sites is expected to positively impact Jordan's image and bolster its
tourism offerings, drawing in visitors from around the globe.
A glowing tribute
Fadi Balawi, the director-general of the Department of
Antiquities, emphasized the significance of this special occasion for all
Jordanians.
The illumination of these archaeological sites, which hold
immense sentimental value, he said, will continue to shine brightly from dusk
till dawn, from 7pm till 7am.
