JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Al-Shibli stated that the Jordanian convoy, consisting of 14 trucks, was accompanied by a Qatari aid convoy of 27 trucks carrying food and medical supplies. This effort reflects joint Jordanian-Qatari support and a broader Arab initiative to assist Syria in facing the severe humanitarian conditions resulting from the unfortunate events in the Sweida Governorate.

Al-Shibli added that coordination took place with the Syrian government to deliver the aid through the Al-Jaber/Nasib border crossing, after which the supplies will be distributed via the Syrian Arab Red Crescent to beneficiaries in Sweida Governorate, including Sweida city, western Sweida areas, and shelters for displaced persons in Daraa and Rural Damascus Governorates.

He emphasized that the joint Jordanian-Qatari convoys respond to urgent needs in Sweida city, other areas of the governorate, and shelters hosting those displaced by the unfortunate events that took place in the governorate several months ago.

Al-Shibli also praised the Syrian government’s cooperation and commitment to delivering aid to all affected areas, highlighting its efforts to improve humanitarian conditions in these regions.
