The 30th anniversary
According to a statement, H.E. Lescure, emphasized the value of the friendship group as a channel to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations. The establishment of this group takes on added significance as Panama and Jordan approach the 30th anniversary of their diplomatic relations on February 7, 2024. Both nations share common values and principles on the international stage, reinforcing their relationship. Jordan's role in peace efforts in the Middle East and Panama's dedication to peace and security in Central America further underscore their commitment to international conflict resolution and cooperation. Both countries also uphold the importance of respecting International Law and multilateralism for peaceful global coexistence.

Bilateral relations
Meanwhile, H.E. Alkhaladi, shared his positive sentiment about the creation of the friendship group. He expressed optimism that the group will serve as an effective model for political and diplomatic cooperation, contributing to the strengthening of bilateral relations across political, economic, and cultural domains.

Inter-parliamentary friendship groups serve as instrumental tools of modern diplomacy, fostering international cooperation, political dialogue, and cultural understanding between nations at the legislative level. This initiative is poised to pave the way for deeper engagements in various fields, including trade, economy, and education, further enhancing bilateral diplomatic relations.

The Republic of Panama and the Kingdom initiated diplomatic ties on February 7, 1994. Over the past three decades, the two countries have signed various agreements encompassing politics, tourism, and academia. Their current focus remains on intensifying cooperation in political and security spheres, alongside expanding trade relationships. Panama's strategic geographic assets, encompassing the Panama Canal, a prominent free trade zone, special economic zones, and an international banking center, position it as a pivotal gateway to the Latin American and Caribbean region.
