The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the storming of the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif by Israeli extremists on Sunday, and their provocative and reckless actions of raising Israeli flags and chanting anthems within its courtyards under the protection of the Israeli occupation police. The Ministry described these actions as a flagrant violation of international law, a condemned escalation, and an unacceptable provocation that must stop immediately.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry, Ambassador Fuad Al-Majali, reaffirmed the Kingdom's absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the continuous incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif and the accompanying provocations. He characterized them as a blatant violation of the existing historical and legal status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif, an unacceptable attempt to temporally and spatially divide it, and a desecration of its sanctity. He stressed that Israel holds no sovereignty over the occupied city of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
Al-Majali warned of the consequences and repercussions of these continuous violations and provocations, calling on the international community to take a firm stance to compel Israel, as the occupying power, to stop all irresponsible practices and ongoing violations against Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem, and to halt unilateral measures in the occupied West Bank.
Al-Majali reiterated that the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque, in its entirety of 144 dunams, is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims. He emphasized that the Jerusalem Waqf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department, affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places, is the sole legal authority with exclusive jurisdiction to manage all affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif and regulate entry to it.
