Industrial production up 3.5% through October

AMMAN — The general industrial production quantities index edged up by 3.53 percent in the first 10 months of the year to reach 92.87 points, compared with 89.7 points for the same period of 2021, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The growth was mainly attributed to a 2.96 percent increase in transformative industries production, in addition to a 7.03 percent increase in extractive industries production and a 7.42 percent rise in electricity production, according to a monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics on Wednesday.

For October, the index increased by 5.08 percent to 92.96 points, compared to 88.46 points for October 2021, the report showed.

The main contributors to the monthly rise were transformative industries production at 5.26 percent, extractive industries at 2.4 percent, and electricity at 6.3 percent.اضافة اعلان
