Gov’t not backing down from its decision on summer time

AMMAN — A government source said that there is no backing down from the decision to switch to summer time as of midnight Thursday, according to Hala News.اضافة اعلان

The source also said that the government will not amend the working hours of public sector employees, which start at 8:30am, in line with the recent decision of the Ministry of Education.

Last Thursday the Ministry of Education decided that the first class at public schools starts at 8:30am, from February 27 to March 31.

Last September, the Council of Ministers took the decision to switch to summer time from midnight of the last Thursday of February of each year, instead of the last Thursday of March.

Accordingly, the hour is advanced by 60 minutes.
