EMV launches 63 industry initiatives at a value of JD245m

AMMAN — The executive program for the Economic Modernization Vision (EMV) has established 63 high-value industry initiatives at a total cost of JD245 million for 2023-2025 in the sectors of industry, agriculture, food security, and logistics services, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Industrial initiatives aim to improve Jordan's global rankings, enhance the competitiveness of local industries, develop the national export volume, launch a policy to promote "Made in Jordan" products, build a database for the manufacturing sectors, and further develop strategies. In the agricultural and food security sectors, the initiatives are targeted at improving Jordan's global rankings, simplifying regulatory procedures, and expanding agricultural lending programs and agricultural industries dependent on local production inputs, among other goals. As for Jordan's logistics and transportation sector, the initiatives aim to align legislation and procedures related to facilitating transport and trade, develop infrastructure for land transport and ports, digitize government services, and strengthen public-private partnership. The package also includes plans to implement sustainable development and environmentally friendly projects, carry out a solar energy project at Queen Alia International Airport, and promote regional connectivity for the transport sector.
