Driver who killed 6 in illegal racing accident charged with murder

AMMAN — The public prosecutor of the Al-Wastiyah has charged the driver who caused the death of 6 in the region of Houfa with murder. The accident occurred on Monday, august 28, and the driver was charged with murder as he was racing on the main road, causing the accident, which also left two severely injured.اضافة اعلان

In his decision, the public prosecutor deemed that their acceptance of the risk involved in racing elevates their actions beyond unintentional traffic violations to intentional acts of murder, as stipulated in Article (64) of the Penal Code, Hala News reported.

The accused has been charged with attempted murder, in accordance with the provisions of Article (327/3 and 68) of the Penal Code, as well as causing damage to the property of others, as according to the provisions of Article (445) of the Penal Code. The accused is also charged with a violation of traffic law, involving the engagement in a race on a public road without authorization from the competent authorities, in violation of the provisions of Article (26/j/5) of the Traffic Law. Furthermore, the accused is charged with reckless and exhibitionist driving, contrary to the provisions of Article (29/j) of the Traffic Law.

Likewise, the prosecutor also charged the other participant in the race with assisted murder and all the above traffic violations.
