AMMAN— On Friday, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship announced the removal of 24 unlicensed smart ride-hailing applications from electronic application stores in collaboration with global corporations Google, Apple, and Huawei.اضافة اعلان

The ministry stated that the blocking of these applications stems from their significant adverse effects on social and security aspects, as well as their unfair competition with licensed applications. To swiftly remove the unauthorized applications from Jordan's online stores, the Ministry reached out to the three companies, providing them with a list of the offending apps, Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

According to the ministry, operating these applications illegally violates fair competition rules and could lead to reduced profits for legally compliant licensed businesses, thus negatively impacting the local economy.

The ministry emphasized the importance of refraining from using illegal applications, as they have serious detrimental effects on society, security, and the economy. Specifically, the safety of passengers is compromised due to some drivers using these illegal apps having criminal records.
