AMMAN — The Cyber Crime Unit at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has reissued warnings about the threat of Whatsapp hacking, noting in a statement that it still receives daily complaints on the matter.
The previous warnings had outlined “new” methods
of stealing users’ accounts, which include impersonating public figures to
obtain users’ personal information.
The CID advised Jordanians to shield themselves from
such risks by relying on two-step authentication, creating stronger passwords
and avoiding suspicious links.
