Director of Al-Hussein New Salt Hospital, Rami Abu Rumman, stated that the hospital conducted 150 open-heart surgeries and 5,000 heart catheterizations in 2023, Khaberni reported.اضافة اعلان

Abu Rumman noted that approximately 750,000 individuals visited the hospital in 2023, marking a significant increase compared to previous years. He added that the patient satisfaction rate with the services provided reached 93 percent.

Advancements and achievements in Al-Hussein New Salt Hospital in 2023

In 2023, the hospital performed various specialized surgeries, including heart valve replacements, full knee tendon transplants, shoulder joint replacements, spinal corrections, successful cornea transplants, brain tumor removals, advanced malignant tumor removals extending from the mouth to the neck, and cosmetic restoration of the affected area by the dental department.

Abu Rumman pointed out that the hospital's outpatient clinics received around 1,900 visitors daily, a 26 percent increase from 2022, while the emergency department treated 1,200 patients, marking a 25 percent increase. The total number of patient admissions reached approximately 36,000, a 16 percent increase from 2022.

Additionally, the hospital established specialized departments, including foot and ankle specialization, orthopedic spinal surgeries, blood diseases, liver and bile duct surgeries, interventional radiology, pediatric cardiac surgery, and sports injuries.

He highlighted the expansion of the kidney department and the increase in the number of open-heart surgeons to six, brain and nerve surgeons to five, heart and catheterization specialists to seven, as well as the expansion of operating rooms. Additionally, a pharmacy for round-the-clock department services, a diabetic foot unit, a neonatal intensive care unit, an early breast cancer detection clinic, and a dental implant laboratory were opened.

Abu Rumman noted the addition of numerous specialized tests to the laboratory, the expansion of endoscopic surgery, and the enhancement of hospital staff with modern equipment, including pediatric heart echo machines, plasma separation for blood banks, vascular imaging devices, panoramic 3D dental imaging machines, cooling incubators, digital angiography, bladder planning, and flexible endoscopes.

Moreover, he mentioned the commencement of collaboration with the Jordanian Royal Medical Services (JRMS) through an agreement with the Ministry of Health, where the hospital was supplied with quality expertise in cardiac surgery, catheterization, sports medicine, and anesthesia. Collaboration with Al-Balqa Applied University's Faculty of Medicine was also emphasized to create a scientific and academic environment to provide the best service to patients, achieve excellence in clinical training, develop skills, and encourage joint scientific research.

Furthermore, Abu Rumman highlighted the activation of the medical education and training library and the enhancement of skills and experiences among staff to qualify for new specialties and keep pace with scientific and medical progress within and outside the Ministry of Health. A total of 2,424 trainees were trained through 121 training courses and workshops, including 106 accredited continuous vocational education courses.

Notably, the hospital participated in the European Society for Cardiovascular Surgery (ESCVS) Conference held in France through a rare cardiac catheterization procedure recognized as a global scientific achievement. It was also selected as one of the best hospitals at a conference for specialized operations in Jordan and achieved certification for meeting the national objectives of healthcare quality and safety for 2023.

Moreover, it achieved the second accreditation standards for the mammography unit and advanced stages in the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) for full hospital accreditation in record time.
