70% of divorces in 2021 occurred before consummation of marriage

AMMAN — According to official statistics, about 70 percent of divorces in Jordan during the year 2021 took place before the consummation of marriage, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.اضافة اعلان

The statistics show that a total of 4,396 divorces took place in Jordan last year.

Of these divorce cases, 3,057 (69.5 percent) are instances of minor irrevocable divorce before the consummation of marriage.

The number of minor irrevocable divorce cases after consummation reached 1,025 cases, or 23.3 percent of the total divorce cases.
