The doctor noted that many people naturally gravitate toward lighter foods during summer, as high temperatures often cause stomach heaviness, discomfort, and bloating.

He highlighted fish as one of the best dietary options in hot weather due to its high-quality, easily digestible protein compared to many other protein-rich foods, making it an essential component of a summer diet.

"Fish is an important source of omega-3 fatty acids, which play a key role in maintaining cardiovascular health and supporting normal brain function," he said. "It also contains a range of essential minerals and trace elements required for proper body function."

To preserve the nutritional value of fish, Ojeda recommended healthy, gentle cooking methods such as grilling, boiling, steaming, and slow cooking, noting that consuming fish two to three times a week is a suitable option within a balanced diet.

The expert also advised serving fish alongside vegetables, legumes, and whole grains, stressing the importance of limiting salt intake during summer and relying on fresh, minimally processed foods to maintain good health and proper hydration.
