Barcelona are close to securing the return of Portuguese full-back João Cancelo, as the summer transfer window enters its decisive stage in August.

According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan club has intensified negotiations to sign the 32-year-old defender, who is expected to agree to a two-year contract.
Cancelo spent last season on loan at Barcelona from Saudi club Al Hilal under German coach Hansi Flick, before returning to the Saudi side at the end of the campaign.
The report said the deal largely depended on Cancelo reaching an agreement with Al Hilal, where he remains under contract until the summer of 2027, to facilitate his departure.
Negotiations are now in their final stages, with growing optimism inside Barcelona that the transfer will be completed within the next few days, paving the way for the Portuguese international's return to Spotify Camp Nou ahead of the new season.
