During the 22nd and final round of the Jordanian Professional League that took place on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, Israa Mobaideen led the first all-female squad to referee in a men’s Professional League match.

Mobaideen, assisted by referees Islam Al-Abadi, Sabreen Al-Abadi, and Haneen Murad, refereed the match between Sahab SC and Baqaa, which ended in a score of 4-1. This set a historical precedent as it was the first time an all-female referee squad took on a Jordanian stadium.

In accordance with the AFC’s strategic vision of enabling and enhancing the presence of women referees, the federation looks forward to the refinement and qualification of a generation capable of refereeing professionals’ championships, with the same competence they present in women’s league and continental championships.

The federation, which places the empowerment of women cadres at the top of its priorities, also seeks to advance plans for the development of women’s referees by highlighting their abilities and professional status.

The federation also seeks to highlight the critical role of women referees in the football system in general to attract more women and broaden the base.
