Jordan’s trade balance deficit with GAFTA increases

AMMAN — The Kingdom’s trade balance deficit with the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA) increased by 92.4 percent to some JD1.303 billion in the third quarter of 2021, compared with JD677 million in the same period of 2020, the Department of Statistics reported on Wednesday.اضافة اعلان

In a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the department said that the national exports to GAFTA countries in the July-September period of 2021 went up by 14.1 percent to JD1.681 billion, compared with JD1.473 million in 2020.

“The national imports also climbed during the third quarter of this year by 38.7 percent to JD2.984 billion, compared with JD2.150 billion in 2020,” the report added.
