In a context marked by growing international interest in languages and cultures as bridges for communication between peoples, Jordanian-Chinese relations are entering a deeper phase, with the Ministry of Education exploring the inclusion of Chinese language instruction in the Kingdom's school curriculum. This step builds upon the existing academic programs for teaching Chinese at the bachelor's and master's levels in Jordanian universities, making expansion into schools a natural development reflecting a long-term strategic vision.اضافة اعلان

This approach gained a new practical dimension following a meeting between the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education for Educational Affairs, Dr. Nawaf Al-Ajarmeh, and the Deputy Director-General of the Center for Cooperation in Foreign Languages at the Chinese Ministry of Education, Yu Tianqi. During the meeting, they discussed frameworks for cooperation between the two sides and explored opportunities for integrating Chinese language instruction into Jordanian public schools, paving the way for a more open and collaborative future in the fields of education and culture.

Dr. Al-Ajarmeh emphasized the Ministry's commitment to developing the educational system in line with global changes and enhancing students' skills, noting that some private schools in Jordan have already begun teaching Chinese. He added that the Ministry will consider including it in a number of public schools as part of its efforts to expand foreign language options for students to meet future demands and the needs of the international job market.

In turn, Yu Tianqi explained that Chinese is now taught in many countries around the world, including an Arab country, reflecting its growing presence and the importance of its global dissemination. She also expressed the Chinese Embassy in Amman's desire to strengthen cooperation with Jordan in this field, affirming China's readiness to support educational programs by providing experts, teachers, and educational materials, in addition to expanding cultural and academic exchange.

This rapprochement reflects the two countries' desire to elevate bilateral relations to new levels that transcend the economic sphere to strengthen human and cultural ties. Opening up Chinese language education to Jordanian students means giving them the opportunity to engage with one of the oldest and most influential cultures in the modern world, and enabling them to acquire valuable skills that will enhance their future opportunities in the fields of trade, technology, scientific research, and international cooperation. The inclusion of Chinese in schools represents a strategic educational investment aimed at preparing a generation capable of engaging with diverse cultures and participating in a constantly evolving global environment. Learning a new language opens vast intellectual and cultural doors for students, enhances their critical thinking skills and acceptance of diversity, and plays a role in supporting diplomatic relations and economic partnerships between countries.

Furthermore, this cooperation is part of a long history of friendly relations between Jordan and China, as the two countries witness increasing collaboration in education, infrastructure, technology, and investment. Expanding Chinese language education will deepen this cooperation and cultivate a generation equipped with the tools for understanding and positive interaction with international partners, especially China.

In conclusion, the move towards teaching Chinese in Jordanian schools is not merely a linguistic addition to the curriculum, but a strategic step reflecting a forward-looking vision that places education at the heart of global transformations. It is an initiative that seeks to strengthen cultural exchange, develop the skills of Jordanian youth, and establish a balanced and sustainable partnership between China and Jordan, benefiting both countries and paving the way for many years of cooperation to come.
