The Lebanese Ministry of Health stated that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on southern Lebanon since last March has risen to 4,304 martyrs and 12,203 injured.
Earlier on Sunday, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli occupation army, Eyal Zamir, said that army forces control key positions in the Beaufort (al-Shaqif) heights in southern Lebanon, and that they are ready to launch a swift attack on Hezbollah if it violates the ceasefire.
During a field visit to the forces of the 36th Division in the area, Zamir added: "The Lebanese army must remove Hezbollah elements from the Beaufort heights, as we are ready to launch a swift attack on Hezbollah if it violates the ceasefire."
He continued: "We are working decisively to eliminate Hezbollah's threats, and the Lebanese army must fulfill its obligations under the framework agreement," adding, "The military achievements made by our forces have weakened Hezbollah; it is exhausted and has suffered defeat in every confrontation it has fought with our forces."
Zamir claimed that the Beaufort area contains infrastructure and tunnels established by Hezbollah with Iranian support and funding, alleging that Israeli occupation army forces control key positions above ground as well as underground facilities.
