A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Wednesday, with cold weather prevailing in most regions, while conditions will be relatively mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Clouds at various altitudes will appear over the northern and central parts of the Kingdom, and southwesterly winds will be active.
According to the Jordan Meteorological Department, maximum and minimum temperatures in East Amman will range between 14 and 8°C, in West Amman between 12 and 6°C, in the northern highlands between 10 and 4°C, in the Sharah highlands between 9 and 2°C, in desert areas between 16 and 6°C, in the plains between 15 and 7°C, in the northern Jordan Valley between 21 and 10°C, in the southern Jordan Valley between 24 and 12°C, in the Dead Sea between 23 and 11°C, and in the Gulf of Aqaba between 24 and 12°C.
On Thursday, the Kingdom will be affected by a cold and moist air mass associated with a low-pressure system centered north of the island of Cyprus. Temperatures will drop, and the weather will be cold and partly cloudy, becoming cloudy at times. Rain is expected during the early morning hours, starting in the northern regions, and gradually extending during the afternoon to the central areas and parts of the eastern regions.
Rainfall is expected to be heavy at times, especially in the northern and central regions, including the northern and central Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea area, and may be accompanied by thunderstorms in some areas.
During the night, rainfall is expected to gradually extend to limited parts of the southwestern regions. Westerly winds will be active with strong gusts at times reaching speeds of 50–60 km/h, raising dust in desert areas. Later at night, winds will shift to northwesterly, moderate to active.
The Meteorological Department warned of the risk of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas in the northern and central regions, including the northern and central Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea area; reduced horizontal visibility due to dust in desert areas; reduced visibility due to fog and low clouds touching the ground, especially over mountainous areas; and slippery roads due to rainfall. It urged the public to avoid crossing areas where rainwater accumulates.
On Friday, the weather will be cold and partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with intermittent light rain showers in the western parts of the Kingdom. Winds will be northwesterly and moderate, occasionally becoming active.
On Saturday, the weather will be cold in most regions and relatively mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with some low clouds appearing. Winds will be easterly and moderate.
