A further slight drop in temperatures is forecast for Friday. Weather will remain mild in most regions and hot in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea area and Aqaba. Cloud cover at varying altitudes is expected, particularly over the north and centre of the kingdom, with a chance of light rain showers in isolated parts of the north during morning hours. Westerly winds, moderate in speed, will strengthen at intervals and may raise dust, especially in Badia areas.
Saturday will bring mild conditions across most regions, with heat continuing in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea area and Aqaba. Low-altitude cloud cover is expected, with moderate north-westerly winds picking up at times.
On Sunday, temperatures will rise slightly while remaining mild across most of the country and hot in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea area and Aqaba. Moderate north-westerly winds are forecast.
For Thursday, the department said forecast maximum and minimum temperatures in degrees Celsius are: east Amman 33-21, west Amman 31-19, northern highlands 29-18, Shara highlands 31-17, Badia 37-21, plains 32-20, northern Jordan Valley 39-25, southern Jordan Valley 40-27, Dead Sea 39-26, and the Gulf of Aqaba 40-27.
