Khuzai opened the U85kg competitions by defeating the Colombian player Kevin Cuervo, in the quarterfinals with a score of 4–2, and then played the Emirati Faisal Al-Ketbi in the semifinals, defeating him 2–0, before the UAE national team objected.

The referees met for about 10 minutes before they decided against Khuzai and awarded the victory to the Ketbi, which prompted Jordan to pull out Khuzai from the competitions in protest against the referees’ decision.

The Jordanian Jiu-Jitsu Federation will be submitting an official report on the incident to the World Games Organizing Committee and the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation in the coming days.
