WhatsApp has begun testing a new update in its iPhone beta version, offering a clearer and more organized way to delete chats and their content. The change aims to reduce accidental deletions and give users finer control over managing their conversations.اضافة اعلان

According to WABetaInfo, chat deletion is no longer limited to a simple confirmation pop-up. Instead, it now occurs through an interactive bottom sheet interface that appears when the command is executed, providing a detailed explanation of what will be deleted before completion.

The new interface categorizes content affected by deletion into clear sections, including text messages, starred messages, and media stored on the device. This layout allows users to understand precisely the consequences of the action and review options before proceeding.

The update pays special attention to starred messages, allowing users to choose whether to keep or delete them independently when clearing a chat—a key feature for those who use starred messages to store important information or content.

Media control options have also been expanded. Users can select which types of files to delete, such as photos, videos, documents, audio files, stickers, and voice messages, with an estimated storage space that will be freed after deletion.

The new tool can be accessed from multiple locations within the app, whether from the chat info screen or the chat list itself, while maintaining the same level of detail and options across all access points.

This update reflects Meta’s direction toward enhancing transparency and data control, especially as users increasingly rely on WhatsApp for long conversations containing sensitive or important content, while also improving storage management on devices.
