According to the company, the feature is now available in Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam. The service is supported on both Desktop and iOS in all these regions, with the exception of Japan.

An Intelligent Assistant Inside the Browser
Google continues to strengthen Gemini’s presence within Chrome. Since last year, the company has worked on integrating the smart assistant via a floating window that allows users to interact with AI while browsing, according to a report by TechCrunch.

Subsequent updates introduced an integrated Sidebar assistant capable of:

Multi-tab Interactivity: Answering questions across multiple open tabs.

Personalized Insights: Providing tailored information based on the "Personal Intelligence" feature.

Ecosystem Integration: Connecting with services like Gmail and Google Photos.

Users can also execute direct tasks within the browser, such as scheduling meetings via Google Calendar, checking locations with Google Maps, and drafting or sending emails through Gmail.

Native Image Editing
A standout addition is the ability to edit images on the web using the Nano Banana 2 tool within the Sidebar. This adds a creative dimension to the browsing experience, allowing users to modify visuals without leaving the current page.

Gradual Global Rollout
Google first launched Gemini in Chrome in the United States last January, followed by an expansion to India, Canada, and New Zealand in March. This latest move marks the next phase of its global deployment.

Advanced Features in Testing
Despite the expansion, certain advanced capabilities remain in the experimental stage. Most notably, the "Agentic" AI feature—which allows the AI to navigate the browser and execute tasks on behalf of the user—is currently restricted to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers within the United States.

With this expansion, Google continues to reshape the web experience, transforming the browser from a viewing tool into an interactive, intelligent platform in a high-stakes race for the future of AI.
