They caution against consuming certain foods before bed, such as chocolate, cheese, potato chips, and ice cream, as these can negatively affect sleep.

Instead, experts recommend turning to foods that naturally stimulate melatonin, the hormone responsible for regulating sleep. One of the top foods in this category is banana.

Experts note:
"Bananas are an excellent dietary choice. If you’re used to eating them in the morning, it might be time to try them before bed instead. They’re rich in magnesium, which helps relax the muscles and calm the body."

For better results, they suggest eating banana slices with a spoonful of natural nut butter to promote deeper, more restful sleep.

Bananas are packed with sleep-promoting nutrients like magnesium, tryptophan, vitamin B6, carbohydrates, and potassium—all of which play a role in enhancing sleep quality.

A medium-sized banana (about 126 grams) contains approximately 34 mg of magnesium, covering about 8% of the daily recommended intake.

Magnesium is believed to support sleep by helping regulate the body’s internal clock and calming the nervous system.
