The Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority announced that Petra Archaeological City received 75,319 visitors from all nationalities in November, showing a remarkable increase compared to the same month in 2024.

Statistics from the Authority’s Archaeological Documentation and Tourism Studies Center indicated that 53,666 visitors were international tourists, representing 71% of the total and a growth rate of 135%. Jordanian visitors numbered 17,348, including 10,855 through the “Jordan Our Paradise” program, while Arab visitors totaled 3,211, and there were 1,094 resident visitors.
In comparison, November 2024 saw 41,110 total visitors, including 22,830 international visitors, 1,876 Arab visitors, 15,259 Jordanians (10,750 via the “Jordan Our Paradise” program), and 1,145 residents.
The busiest day in November 2025 was 7 November, with 4,635 visitors.
The top nationalities visiting Petra were Jordan, the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain, along with visitors from several other Asian and European countries.
Yazan Mahadin, Commissioner of the Petra Region and Tourism Authority, said the increase reflects a tangible improvement in the tourism sector in Petra, particularly among international visitors.
He added that the Authority continues to develop tourism services, organize visitor flow within the site, and implement projects to preserve cultural heritage and ensure its sustainability for future generations.
Mahadin also confirmed that upcoming projects aim to enhance service quality for visitors and increase the site’s capacity.
