IRBID — A dialogue was held at Shabat sahil horan Center on Wednesday in cooperation between the
Community Police Department, and members of the local security council titled “The scourge of drugs
and indicators of abuse inside the family”, according to the Jordan News
Agency, Petra.

The seminar included the dangers of drugs,
indicators of their abuse, and the role of addiction treatment centers in
treating drug abusers, in addition to the damage that drugs cause to the
nervous system, and the reasons for their spread, keeping bad company, weak
religious faith and family disintegration.
The seminar also spoke about the role played
by the Drug Enforcement Administration in combating the spread of drugs and
what the Addiction Treatment Center is doing to rehabilitate drug abusers and
reintegrating them in to society.
The representative of the Ifta Department
spoke about the importance of the family’s role in educating children, calling
for the need for joint efforts to combat drugs’ spread that threatens society,
through partnership with various government institutions and urging young
people to participate in raising awareness among members of the local community
about the dangers of different drugs.
The seminar was attended by the head of the
Houran Sahel Security Center, the head of the anti-drug branch, and the
representative of Ifta Department in the North Region.
