The Chairman of the Poultry and Feed Investors Association, Abdel Shakour Jamjoum, stated on Monday that the noticeable decline in poultry prices in the local market is due to an increase in production quantities.

Jamjoum told Al-Mamlaka that this price drop has caused significant losses in the sector, reaching nearly half a million dinars daily. He noted that the selling price per kilogram in the market ranges from 1 to 1.29 JOD, while the production cost for poultry farmers is 1.5 JOD per kilogram.
He also highlighted that rising feed prices have contributed to higher production costs, affecting competitiveness and reducing the potential to export surplus poultry abroad.
Jamjoum added that the absence of diseases is another factor behind the increase in poultry supply in the markets, with between 700,000 and 800,000 birds slaughtered daily in the local market.
