Garments drive Irbid's exports to $100m in January

AMMAN — Outbound shipments by clothing and textile manufacturers in Irbid sent the northern governorate’s total exports in January to $101 million, marking a 16.4-percent increase compared with the figure reported in the same month of 2021.اضافة اعلان

President of the Irbid Chamber of Industry Hani Abu Hassan said Wednesday most of the monthly exports originated from the Al-Hassan Industrial Estate, accounting for a major JD92 million of the total, followed by exports from the Cyber City at $2.3 million, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

He explained that garments exports amounted to $92 million, foodstuffs to $2.7 million, and pharmaceuticals to $2.6 million. About $73 million in goods was exported to the US, $8.5 million to Europe, and $7.3 million to Arab countries.
