During the inauguration, Minister of Water and Irrigation Raed Abu Saud said that this national achievement, developed in collaboration with the industrial sector, enhances Jordan’s position in adopting sustainable industrial solutions that preserve water resources. The initiative also supports industrial integration and encourages investment in advanced treatment and water reuse technologies, in line with the 2024–2026 National Water Conservation Plan.

The minister added that the project represents a pioneering step in sustainable water resource management. It enables the treatment and reuse of industrial wastewater from soda and chlorine production, reducing freshwater consumption by 25% and cutting water costs by 30%.

He also noted that the new system improves operational efficiency, strengthens the competitiveness of Jordanian industries in domestic and international markets, and encourages all sectors to adopt responsible water use practices consistent with green economy requirements and climate change challenges.
