Markets in the Southern Al-Mazar district of Karak Governorate are witnessing noticeable commercial activity as the holy month of Ramadan approaches. Citizens are increasingly purchasing staple food items and essential goods, while merchants prepare early to meet market demands and ensure stable supply.

Several shop owners in Southern Al-Mazar reported that demand is focused on basic commodities such as rice, sugar, cooking oils, dates, and meat, alongside traditional Ramadan sweets. They confirmed that sufficient stock is available to meet citizens’ needs throughout the holy month.
Meanwhile, the Mutah and Southern Al-Mazar Municipality has intensified its monitoring and organizational efforts ahead of Ramadan. Daily field inspections are conducted in markets and shops to ensure compliance with health standards, food safety, and orderly trade, especially in areas prone to crowding before iftar.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Abadla Al-Naimat, head of the municipal committee, stated that health and market regulation teams coordinate with relevant authorities to address violations related to pricing or health requirements, monitor public cleanliness, and remove obstructions from sidewalks to ensure smooth traffic flow and shopper safety.
He urged citizens in Southern Al-Mazar to shop moderately, avoid panic buying, and report any violations through official channels, emphasizing that community cooperation is key to maintaining market stability during Ramadan.
