Tourism income during the first two months of 2026 decreased by 3.2%, totaling $1.2 billion. This is in contrast to a 16.3% increase (reaching $1.3 billion) during the same period last year, according to preliminary data released by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ).

The decline is attributed to a 3.6% drop in the number of tourists. However, the data reveals an increase in tourism income during the first two months of 2026 from the following nationalities:
European: +49.8%
American: +13.4%
Asian: +9.6%
Conversely, tourism income saw a decline from:
Expatriate Jordanians: -9.6%
Arabs: -6.6%
Other Nationalities: -8.7%
The data also shows a 3.1% decrease in spending on outbound tourism during the first two months of 2026, reaching $332.2 million.
