Washington Post: Pentagon Prepares to Deploy 1,500 Troops in Minnesota
The Washington Post reported on Sunday, citing officials, that the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) has ordered approximately 1,500 active-duty soldiers to prepare for a potential deployment in the state of Minnesota.اضافة اعلان

The newspaper explained that these units have been placed on high alert in anticipation of escalating violence in the state.

This move follows U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat to invoke the Insurrection Act if state officials fail to prevent protesters from targeting immigration authorities.

Trump wrote on his Truth Social account on Thursday: “If the corrupt politicians in Minnesota do not uphold the law and stop professional agitators and rebels from attacking Immigration officers, who are only doing their duty, I will invoke the Insurrection Act.”

The soldiers belong to two infantry battalions of the U.S. Army’s 11th Airborne Division, stationed in Alaska.

The Insurrection Act is a federal law that grants the president the authority to deploy the Army or National Guard within the United States to suppress uprisings. It can be invoked in cases of “unlawful obstruction, assemblage, or rebellion” against federal authority. If the president determines these conditions are met, he may deploy armed forces to “enforce the law or suppress the insurrection.”
